Never in my life had I imagined that I would meet an actress who has blockbusters under her belt, especially not in Nairobi, Kenya. I am highly aspirational and I see my career taking me to Hollywood sometime, because I have already gotten the privilege to work with the top film directors from Los Angeles.
One of the highlights of this year’s Grammys is when pop star Rihanna rocket the stage. She was flanked by African dancers, with whom she staged an epic performance. The crowd went wild when she did the popular South African dance Gwara Gwara as she sang “Wild Thoughts” alongside Bryson Tiller and DJ Khaled. The 60th Grammy Awards ceremony took place in New York.
Several weeks ago, I invited a friend over for a drink. It was a rare gem that I got from Simba Corp Aspire Centre in Westlands, home to Nairobi’s fastest growing wine company Uva Wines.
Even though she ended up not showing up, I ended up having loads of fun with friend who came to sleep over for the weekend.
All my life, I had never attended a musical show, until I experienced the Rent-A-Diva comedic opera performance a few days ago. The show was presented at The Attic Rooftop Bar at Park Inn by Radisson here in Westlands, Nairobi.
Mind you, I had not date for the evening, so I was all there by myself. I arrived a bit too early; the event was scheduled for 7pm but I was there over an hour earlier. The set up was subtle and guests were already streaming in. We were served with delicious refreshments and bitings. As I am a wine lover, I opted for red dry.
I’ve tried many things before, but a four course wine dinner was something I was yet to cross out of my wish list. Thanks to Uva Wines and Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi, it all became real a couple weeks ago.
I had gotten an exclusive invitation to go sample what the two have to offer. Uva Wines is a fast growing Portuguese wine supply company based in Nairobi, Kenya. The two luxury brands came together to present what I would call one of the most thoughtful menu creations I’ve ever tried out.
If you follow Ty Dolla $ign and Wizkid, you’ll realize that they are actually tight friends.
They have been working on hit songs progressively. These include “Dirty Wine” and “One For Me”, off the Nigerian star’s Sounds From The Other Side album.
I have been a fan of the “Smile” star since 2005. She was the first rock star I first fell in love with. But things changed back in early 2013 when I discovered a Kenyan magazine that had worked with top A-list celebrities.
