Hollywood director Hannah Lux Davis is undoubtedly one of the world’s most renowned music video creators. She has worked on visuals that have garnered billions of views. For example, Ariana Grande’s “Side To Side” featuring Nicki Minaj has over 1 billion views on Youtube.
Just a few weeks ago, Diamond Platnumz, one of Africa’s top musicians released an album titled A Boy From Tandale. It has been doing well. The launch was in Nairobi and was attended by the who is who in the East African entertainment industry.
He later released a spanking new video, “African Beauty” featuring American singer Omarion to promote the album. The latter was actually in Kenya to support him during his album release. The song is a groovy Afropop release, created by Nigerian producer Krizbeatz, the same guy who worked on Tekno’s 2016 hit “Pana”. It is characterized by a catchy, smooth rock music backdrop.
One of the highlights of this year’s Grammys is when pop star Rihanna rocket the stage. She was flanked by African dancers, with whom she staged an epic performance. The crowd went wild when she did the popular South African dance Gwara Gwara as she sang “Wild Thoughts” alongside Bryson Tiller and DJ Khaled. The 60th Grammy Awards ceremony took place in New York.
All my life, I had never attended a musical show, until I experienced the Rent-A-Diva comedic opera performance a few days ago. The show was presented at The Attic Rooftop Bar at Park Inn by Radisson here in Westlands, Nairobi.
Mind you, I had not date for the evening, so I was all there by myself. I arrived a bit too early; the event was scheduled for 7pm but I was there over an hour earlier. The set up was subtle and guests were already streaming in. We were served with delicious refreshments and bitings. As I am a wine lover, I opted for red dry.
You just read that right; the hotel is offering something that no one else in the country is. If you’re a travel junkie like me, your heart must be beating faster by now…from the thrill that comes with the imagination of having such a unique breakfast.
