Look Who Stopped By At The Office Today! She Happens To Be My Biggest Inspiration

On October 17th 2014, I shared with my friend a story about my inspiration of the week: Vanessa Mdee is a popular musician & participating artiste in Coke Studio Africa season 2. She’ll be back again in Season 3 this year. She’s undoubtedly one of the best African Acts in the current time.

The Tanzanian native is a recording artist, songwriter, youth activist, TV and radio host. She’s the first ever MTV VJ from TZ. Some of the people she’s interviewed include Trey Songz, Ludacris, Miguel, French Montana, Mac Miller and Kelly Rowland.

Today, I got to interview one of the biggest musicians on the African continent. Vanessa Mdee is known for her  hits “Hawajui” and “Closer.” I was on the other side of the seat 😉

As a UNAIDS Youth Ambassador, Ms. Mdee is highly involved in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. She writes extensively about issues relating to HIV/AIDS on her blog ‘Dynamite’s Mission.’ Ms. Mdee was MTV’s voice at the 2011 UNAIDS Mali Youth Summit that sought to revolutionize the AIDS response.

Currently, she’s engaged with woman empowerment One Africa, an NGO. She’s even joined hands with other 8 African artistes to create an anthem for their initiative.

Her most recent music project is a big song “Nobody But Me” featuring South African rapper K.O.
