“A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower. You didn’t have to struggle to make your face different than anyone else’s on earth. It just is. You are unique because you were created that way. Look at little children in kindergarten. They’re all different without trying to be. As long as they’re unselfconsciously being themselves, they can’t help but shine. It’s only later, when children are taught to compete, to strive to be better than others, that their natural light becomes distorted.”
There, Marianne is showing us how being confident about oneself can be the biggest asset. It shouldn’t bother you-what people think about you isn’t what defines you. What really matters is the fact that you personally have set a purpose for your life. Be happy and satisfied with the way you are. That is the ultimate goal of life should be living it to your best and leaving behind a legacy and memories that will always evoke pride in you in generations to come!
This post was inspired by my amazing friend Sharon who has been the most amazing thing that has happened in my life. She has taken me the way I am; few people accept you without making too high expectations about you. I thank God for her. Also, my muse was the International Happiness Day. Many thanks to Pharrell for teaming up with United Nations Foundation to make people happy!
